Merry UX Mas, Folks!

Our first year of UX Graz is over and a lot happened since our initial
meetup in December 2019.

--- Highlights 2020 ---

Besides managing to bring our own meetups online, we connected to other
global initiatives and events like the 24 Hours of UX, an event that
brought local communities to a global audience of over 7000 UX
professionals all around the world. UX Graz will participate as
community at next years event in June as well. We also managed to
present our community at the World Usability Congress, the Smashing
Conference, and the Savvy UX Summit. We will keep our partnerships and
might get some discounts or free tickets for our community members if
you want to attend some of those events next year.

However, we were also coming closer together with other Austrian UX
communities and will continue our collaborative meetup about the RoI of
UX together with UX Linz next year (stay tuned for more information).
Our community also got the opportunity to support the first World
Usability Day Austria bringing together the UX communities from Linz,
Salzburg, Vienna, and Graz. If you didn't have the time to participate,
you can rewatch the sessions on our YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpmSBO12QEh1BTs49iQDb2Q/ (we are going
to add more of our Meetup recordings to the channel as soon as we had
the time to cut them).

--- #UXGraz #BetterTogether ---

All of this would not have been possible for me alone, therefore, I am
really happy to introduce my co-organizers Konny Hoffmann and Nikolaus
Koren who started supporting me since summer 2020 and will organize and
moderate some of our meetups in 2021. Besides that, I also want to thank
Karin Pichler, Hannes Robier, Keith Andrews, Markus Pirker, Amy Woolsey,
and Katrin Höllebauer for supporting the UX Graz community actively
during the last year (and hopefully also will continue to support us in
2021).

Due to this active support, we managed to start several meetup formats
this year, started working on our website, created our social media
channels (and filled them with content) and much more!

If you also want to be part of our family, you can join our quarterly UX
Graz Organization Meetings or join our slack channel. Just email us and
we will send you all relevant links and dates: community at uxgraz.at

--- Outlook 2021 ---

We are going to continue our meetups and go back to local events as soon
as possible. However, we will try to make it possible for our
international audience, to keep at least some of our events in an online
or hybrid (local/online) format. Furthermore, we are going to launch our
website in 2021. As already mentioned in the highlights, we are also
partnering up with other UX communities all around the world and support
international UX events. We have a lot of awesome plans for our future
as growing UX community and if you want to be part of this, feel free to
reach out to community at uxgraz.at
